Throwback to the first ever episode of KBC!

2021 has been a fitting sequel to the eventful year that 2020 was. The glimmer of hope in January was snuffed out with the apocalyptic second wave. Even through the tragedies, India and the rest of the world soldiered on. Just as things were looking up, Omicron - the COVID-19 Christmas special dropped.
Enough doom and gloom though, let's talk about some great things that happened this year. In this week's issue we continue the year’s recap with some India’s Best Achievements in 2021.
Things we learnt this week 🤓
We might truly be a behen’s nation now. According to the 5th National Family and Health Survey (NFHS), 2019-21 India now has 1020 women for every 1000 men. Also, for the first time in history there was no population boom recorded, instead the reproductive rates have dropped. Speaking of which…
Falguni Nayak became India’s first self-made female billionaire when Nykaa went public in November. Started in 2012 the company's total valuation reached 1 trillion rupees within the first 5 minutes of trading. She hopes that, “the Nykaa journey – an Indian-born, Indian-owned, and Indian-managed dream-come-true – can inspire each of you.” Brb checking IWTK’s current valuation.
It was a golden year for India in the field of sports. We won 7 medals in the Olympics and 19 in the Paralympics. Avani Lekhara gunned down the records and became the first Indian woman to win multiple medals at the Paralympics. Neeraj Chopra won a gold for javelin and is the second individual Olympic champion from India. Hitting the mark.
ISRO’s PSLV-C51 launch, carrying Amazonia along with 18 other satellites was launched on February, 28th. Out of those, 5 were designed by students. Apart from some of the finest minds in the country, Lord Venkateswara's blessing might have given the mission the final lift. In one of his interviews K. Sivan, the chairman, mentioned that he took a prototype rocket to the Lord Venkateswara temple and prayed for its successful launch.
