The pandemic has taken a massive toll on our health infrastructure. We do hope that at this time, you and your families are safe. If you haven’t done so, please register for vaccination on the Cowin portal - and when you get a chance, do get yourself vaccinated.
With the aim of spreading some positivity, this week’s newsletter features some light-hearted moments that will hopefully brighten up your day.
Things we Learnt this week:
Susan Govindasamy never thought her love for Ancient Egypt would land her on a terrorist list. Susan owns a 9 year old Arab horse named ‘Isis’, after the Egyptian goddess. She made a payment for a horse training course by sending money via Paypal with the description - “Training for ISIS”. That alerted authorities and they showed up at Susan’s house. Who knew a name would stirrup such controversy.
There is a WhatsApp forward doing the rounds which claims that the RSS has built the second largest COVID center in Indore. This is actually true….kinda.
Ignoring the fact that the message used an image of the Al Bayt stadium in Qatar, there actually is a hospital built in Indore by the RSS - Radha Soami Satsang - a spiritual organization.‘The pandemic has made us do strange things exhibit #3352’ - Josh Swain randomly decided to start a Facebook group with a bunch of strangers with the same name as his. He told them they would fight for the name in a year’s time and the winner would be the only one to keep the name. To his shock many turned up and they faux fought. In the end, 4 year old Josh Vinson Jr was declared the winner and the event raised $8000 for a local hospital. Wonder if anyone said “How’s the Josh?” during the fight.
